TWGCT present the Change Petition to Rt Hon John Lamont MP

On the 10th April 2025 the TWGCT presented the Change Petition, calling for an end to the cull of 83% of a wild goat heft by the rewilding company Oxygen Conservation, to Rt Hon John Lamont MP in Newcastleton.

The petition gathered a staggering 3,823 signatures from concerned members of our community about the welfare of wild goats.

The Rt Hon John Lamont MP presented the petition to the UK Parliament. In his House of Commons address he called upon the Scottish Government to grant protection status for these wild goats, to which he received hearty cheers of support.
